Certified Green Professional
In an age of "go green", "carbon footprints", and recycling, we wanted to let our customers know that J.S. Purcell Lumber Corporation is doing its part to protect the environment and continue to be an environmentally friendly company.
J.S. Purcell Lumber started our recycling program internally with glass, aluminum, and plastic collection. Recently, we expanded our efforts to include batteries and compact fluorescent light bulbs, and are working towards our goal of paper recycling. This is an effort to reduce our carbon footprint, as we not only talk the talk, but we take the walk!
Over the past year, we have become more focused on learning what products are available to us that are considered green. Green can involve a reduced carbon footprint, a recycled product, or an earth friendly product. We have found that not all products marketed as green really are green. We are educating our staff on how they can fulfill your specific requests for green products.
Recently, two staff members have taken the necessary training to become a Certified Green Professional under the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB) program. For more information about the Certified Green Professional designation, visit www.nahb.org/cgpinfo or call the NAHB at 800-368-5242. Some may ask why we are doing this? Our answer is that it is important to us and to you to become increasingly aware of the environment and realize the importance of preserving our natural resources.
Share with us your efforts, and together let's "Go Green"!
